THE MARKET BUILDING FOUNDATION INC.

Public stewardship of a historic resource.

The Market Building Foundation, Inc. is a public non-profit entity created and incorporated to ensure the preservation of the historic and architectural character of the community through the rehabilitation, management and maintenance of the City Market Building. The Foundation members represent a broad cross section of organizations and entities engaged in fostering the development of Downtown Roanoke including the retail sector, the financial community, the City of Roanoke, Downtown Roanoke, Inc., and the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The board members of the Market Building Foundation, Inc. are responsible for the oversight and governance of the renovated facility, and for the management, leasing and operational performance of the City Market Building. The Foundation members bring innovative and creative management skills to the management of the building while ensuring the building remains the centerpiece of Downtown Roanoke’s vitality.

The Market Building Foundation meets bi-monthly on the fourth Wednesday at 8 am. We meet on the third floor of the City Market Building.
